A big part of what we do at Ditto happens before anyone is booked for a job.
For new faces, that means helping them understand the industry, how castings work, what clients expect, how to present themselves, and how we work as an agency. It means building confidence as well as building a book.
Sometimes the journey starts completely from scratch, from an initial conversation, to a first test shoot, to getting paid bookings.
We do this by collaboratively building their portfolios, nurturing them through the process, shooting in our own Bristol or London studios, as well as working with trusted image makers and clients like William King (Vince, top right) and Remco Merbis (Jesse, centre bottom).
With experienced talent, it’s about assessing their portfolios and looking for gaps. Do they have a great book but they could use a fresh headshot? Do the images still look current? Is there enough range? Are there gaps that might be hindering their potential to book the right work?
Because a good book isn’t just a set of nice pictures. It’s a working tool.
The result of looking after our talent, and keeping on top of their portfolios in the process, is that they feel more prepared, more confident and better represented. Clients get talent whose images are up to date, accurate and relevant. And when someone walks onto set, they arrive not only looking like their portfolio, but understanding the brief, the process and what is expected of them.
